Eriksholm Research Center

The World’s Leading Hearing Research Facility To understand the needs of the hearing impaired Oticon operates the largest psychoacoustic research facility in the world, the Eriksholm research facility. The mission of this facility is not to develop the latest technology – it is to work one-on-one with people wearing hearing instruments to understand their expectations, needs and social interaction in daily life. This work leads to new understandings of how to help the hearing impaired live fuller lives with the hearing they have. The focus is people, the needs of the listener, and how to improve their lives, facilitated by the latest breakthroughs in technology. The majority of Erikshom’s research is performed in the field and based on experiments involving hearing instrument wearers. “They have also proved the value of taking a holistic view of the individual.” “In the past, companies tried to simulate real life in the laboratory. Today, companies are exploring people’s acoustic lifestyles in the real world.” Claus Elbering, Co Director of Research at Eriksholm.
